Bio

Kari Waters grew up moving every few years, but ended up attending and graduating from high school in Austin, Texas. She got a B.S. in physiology and developmental biology, but realized after working in a lab that it was not the career for her. She got a masters in social science from Syracuse University, and is excited to be returning for a Ph.D. Her research interests include poverty policy, particularly how they impact women and children, as well as issues surrounding developing nations.
