Aditya's research lies at the intersection of sociology and public administration. He looks at the ways in which public policy is transmitted as a narrative, and the ways in which myriad 'publics' engage with both the concrete realities of public policy and the narratives themselves. In this way, public policy is understood as a socially enmeshed, political and discursively driven phenomenon, rather than a causal, positivist chain of administrative decisions. His dissertation work examines these narratives and complexities in relation to housing in Syracuse.
