Bio
Hanyue's research interests encompass the international and comparative politics of technology, public opinion, and digital authoritarianism. Her current focus is on the dynamics of state-society interactions in China, with a particular emphasis on the crucial role of corporate tech giants in this context.
Hanyue holds an M.A. in international affairs from Boston University and a dual bachelor's degree in communication and international relations from Renmin University of China. She has also been a visiting student at the University of Chicago and Peking University.
Prior to pursuing a Ph.D., Hanyue worked as a full-time research associate at the China International Communication Group.
