Bio

Jack Reilly (he/him/his) joins the Public Administration and International Affairs Department in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in Fall 2024 as an associate teaching professor. He will teach Methods of Public Policy Analysis and Introduction to Statistics.

Prior to joining Syracuse University, Reilly was an associate professor with tenure at New College of Florida from 2018 to 2024, and an assistant professor from 2013 to 2018 where he taught Quantitative Political Analysis, Social Networks, Political Geography, and the Context of Political Behavior.

Reilly’s research explores the social, political and geographic contexts that influence individuals' political choices, preferences and behaviors. He coauthored a chapter in the book “Race, Class, and Social Welfare: American Populism Since the New Deal,” published by Cambridge University Press. His work has also appeared in peer-reviewed journals such as Social Sciences Quarterly and Electoral Studies.

In 2020, Reilly was a recipient of the Hayek Fund for Scholars Award from the Institute of Humane Studies. His research has been funded by the American Political Science Association’s Centennial Center Research Grant.

While at the New College of Florida, Reilly received the Summer Faculty Development Grant in 2023. In 2024, he chaired the Provost’s Advisory Committee.

Reilly earned a Ph.D. and an M.A. in 2013 from the University of California, Davis, and a B.A. from Reed College in 2005.
