Bio
Reece Torres is a sixth year Ph.D. student in the Sociology Department. His areas of focus include race and racial inequality, affect, education and hip hop. He coauthored, along with Aaron Hoy, Marcus Bell, and Selene Cammer-Bechtold, a book chapter titled “Working-Class Graduate Students and theNeoliberalization of Higher Education: A Collaborative Autoethnography.” He is currently working on a piece with Dr. Dalia Rodriguez and Mary Cannito-Coville on affective economies of fear and state sponsored violence as they pertain to the death of Trayvon Martin and the uprisings in Ferguson, Missouri.
