Bio
Rosie Benser is a Ph.D. candidate in the Sociology department at Syracuse University and is affiliated with the Center for Policy Research. Her research interests lie at the intersections of poverty and addiction, specifically at how substance use disorder treatment workers navigate systems of poverty management with clients.
Rosie has taught several classes, and in 2023, received an Outstanding Teaching Assistant award. When Rosie isn’t conducting her own research, she is a research assistant for Dr. Kirk-Werner’s project on pay-to-stay prisons.
