Bio
Sara Reckless currently serves as a senior ransition advisor with the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Transition Initiatives (USAID/OTI). With expertise in assistance efforts to address conflict and transitions in the Middle East, South Asia, North and West Africa, and Europe, she has advised the U.S. government at multiple levels on countering violent extremism, supporting political transitions, and stabilization.
In her recent experience with USAID/OTI, Reckless served as policy lead and is a co-author of the "Stabilization Assistance Review." She also developed the policy framework for USAID’s new Conflict Prevention and Stabilization Bureau.
She began her career working on foreign affairs and defense issues at the U.S. Senate and the German Marshall Fund of the U.S. Reckless earned a master's in international relations from The Fletcher School and a B.A. in conflict studies from DePauw University.
