Bio
Soohyun is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Public Administration and International Affairs. Her research interests delve into studying accumulated inequalities across one’s lifespan and their impact on later working life through an intersectional lens. She is also interested in exploring the role of social policies in alleviating these inequalities.
Prior to joining Maxwell School, Soohyun worked for the National Pension Service for several years, where she advocated for disadvantaged groups to enhance their old-age income security through various roles such as a union activist and a researcher. She is working with Professor Emily Wiemers.
Soohyun holds a BA in child welfare from Chung-Ang University and a MA in social welfare from Seoul National University.
