Bio
Travis Glazier is currently a lead program manager for National Grid in its Central Upstate Division. Formally, Glazier served as director of the Office of Environment for Onondaga County under both County Executive Joanie Mahoney and County Executive J. Ryan McMahon II. In this role, Glazier was responsible for county policy matters related to environmental protection, rehabilitation and preservation. In addition, the director is the liaison between the county, state and federal governments, as well as private interests, in environmental matters on behalf of the county executive. The Office of Environment is a chartered department whereby the director is also responsible for ensuring federal and state directives are followed by the county.
Glazier started his career with Onondaga County in 2010 working for the Department of Water Environment Protection. In 2011 he was appointed by County Executive Mahoney to serve as the director of intergovernmental relations. In 2014 he was appointed to the position of deputy commissioner of facilities management where he oversaw a team of fifty county employees in the department.
Glazier was appointed by County Executive Mahoney to serve as the director of the Office of Environment in 2015 and was confirmed by the Onondaga County Legislature. When County Executive McMahon took office in 2018, he retained Glazier in the role of director of environment where he served until his departure from the county in 2022.
Prior to his service as a part of the county executive’s senior staff, Glazier founded a small internet startup company where he was CEO from 2005-2010. The company specialized in website software for political organizations, nonprofits, and advocacy groups.
From 2002-2005, Glazier served on the District Staff of Congressman Sherwood Boehlert (NY24) where he worked on issues related to the Army Corps of Engineers, the Environmental Protection Agency, Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense and Housing and Urban Development.
Glazier is a lifelong resident of upstate New York and holds a BA in politics with a minor in Environmental Studies from SUNY Potsdam and an Executive Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.

Research Interests
As a former Director for Onondaga County, working under multiple County Executives, Mr. Glazier has gained knowledge of local government structure and processes. As head of intergovernmental relations for Onondaga County, he worked closely with towns, villages, and the City of Syracuse on behalf of the County administration. Later, as head of the Office of Environment, he worked with local leaders, as well as state and federal regulators on issues related to the environment. He currently works for National Grid as a stakeholder engagement lead, specializing in local government.
