The Department of Political Science presents former New York governor Eliot Spitzer, who will give a lecture entitled "From Libertarianism to Angry Populism: Have We Learned Anything From the Crisis of the Past Two Years?" As New York State Attorney General and Governor, Spitzer had long experience dealing with Wall Street, the legal regulation of the banking/investment industry, and its financial and political power.  Mr. Spitzer's talk will focus on political responses to the ongoing financial crisis. Are libertarian Laissez Faire or pitchfork populism appropriate responses? What is to be learned from recent experience, and where might we go from here?
