"What Does The World Look Like From a Non-violent Point of View? Exchange and Transmission in Art and Society" Anne Beffel, Associate Professor of the School of Art and Design, and Susan Dischiave, Assistant Professor of Practice at the iSchool, will present a publicly engaged art project entitled Mindful Web Connection, which utilizes video art and web technologies to encourage empathetic communication. Additionally, Beffel will present performance art works by the City Meditation Crew. These collaborative art works enable participants to slow down, contemplate, and subsequently reach across boundaries to exchange or transmit their perspectives with people they might not necessarily meet otherwise.

We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
