Bhutanese Nepalese Refugees: Stories of Struggle and Resilience Since 2008, tens of thousands of ethnic Nepalese from Bhutan have been resettled in the United States. What are the circumstances that have forced them to flee Bhutan? What kinds of repatriation and resettlement programs have been attempted? What has been the reaction from other South Asian nations? What are their concerns as one of the many refugee communities in upstate New York? Please join us as Hari Adikhari, Bhutanese Nepalese refugee community leader and case manager for Catholic Charities, along with other members of the Bhutanese Nepalese community in Syracuse will share their stories and discuss issues that affect their community.

We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
