Richard Falkenrath is a Principal with The Chertoff Group, a global security and risk management advisory firm; a Contributing Editor at Bloomberg News; and Adjunct Senior Fellow for Counterterrorism and Homeland Security at the Council on Foreign Relations. He previously served as NYPD Deputy Commissioner for Counterterrorism and Deputy Homeland Security Advisor at The White House.

James Steinberg is an internationally recognized expert in public affairs and foreign policy, most recently serving as U.S. Deputy Secretary of State. He became the ninth Dean of the Maxwell School on July 1, 2011. Steinberg served as dean of the LBJ School of Public Affairs (2006-09) and as vice president and director of foreign policy studies at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. (2001-05).

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
