Join us for a University-wide commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
One of the most compelling documentaries about life and dissent in East Germany between 1949 and 1989, centering on the physicist Robert Havemann, the film focuses on acts of courage and resistance despite brutal consequences.
Join us for a discussion with Director, Hava Kohav Beller, following the screening.
Check out the website at: berlinwall25.syr.edu
Watch the calendar for additional film screenings as well as lectures and a digital story contest. Join your fellow students on October 20th to erect a symbolic replica of the Berlin Wall outside Maxwell Hall and celebrate the fall of the wall on October 25th.

We’re Turning 100!
To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
