Molly Linhorst, Teach for China Fellow

Teach for China: A Report from the Field

Teaching English at a rural Chinese middle school brings daily challenges and surprises. As a foreigner, it also brings stares and questions from curious community members. Molly Linhorst, a fellow in the innovative Teach for China program, will discuss her students' barriers to quality education and a few of her own barriers to assimilation in the local community.

Molly Linhorst graduated summa cum laude from Syracuse University in 2014 with degrees in international relations and political science. A native of Central New York, she now lives in rural Baoshan, Yunnan Province. She spent a semester with SU Study Abroad at Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Sponsored by the East Asia Program at the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs

We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
