Professor Catherine Bertini, with the help of her Spring 2015 classes on the United Nations, Girls' Education, and Humanitarian Action, are pleased to announce a Maxwell student event discussing the twenty years of global action since the UN’s Fourth World Conference on Women: Beijing+20.  This event will be held on Wednesday, March 18th from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m in Maxwell room 204.

This event will include a viewing of Professor Bertini's Plenary Address at the Beijing 1995 Conference, with commentary by Professor Bertini followed by a regionally focused student panel and discussion.

The 1995 Beijing Platform produced arguably the most progressive blueprint ever for advancing women’s rights.  If you would like to know more about the history of the Beijing Platform and other events taking place at UN Headquarters as well as around the world, please visit UN Women's website: http://beijing20.unwomen.org/en/about

A light lunch will be provided.  All are welcome to attend.  We hope to see you there!

We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
