Future Career Opportunities in Contracting

The Department of Public Administration and International Affairs will be hosting Phil Kangas, a principle at Grant Thornton Consulting, along side Associate Dean and Chair Professor David Van Slyke for a session on Government Contracting for all interested students. In this session they will discuss future career opportunities in contracting. Mr. Kangas who is a ‘98 MPA alum, has 18 years of experience in government and consulting. He is responsible for the border security sub segment within the Global Security & Justice Strategic Business Unit of the Global Public Sector practice. His 16 years of experience in consulting engagements to the federal government make him an expert in strategic planning, business process re-engineering and improvement, business case analysis, workload assessment, performance measurement, and acquisition activities. 


This lecture will take place on November 4th from 3:30-5:30 pm in the  Dr. Paul and Natalie Strasser Legacy Room. Any questions regarding the event can be directed to kgfennie@syr.edu.
