A Collective Creation Play Directed by Ana Florencia López Ulloa 

"Entre silencios" is a creative collaboration project focused on upstate immigrant experiences, particularly focusing on the many silences that occur when people are asked to tell their stories, often in the context of legal appeals. The central thread of the project was developed by director/songwriter Ana Florencia López Ulloa in a choreopoem structure.  Each participant in the project has contributed to developing the roles they play in the performance, which includes spoken dialogue, dance, and original music. At times comedic and satirical, other times heavy and anguished, the stories we are telling are subtle because we are not saying most of the trauma they come from- those parts of the stories are implied in the silence from the actors on stage. There are parts of the performance that will sometimes include long -at times, uncomfortably long- silences. Reading between the lines of those silences is implied. The play between languages is also not accidental, hoping to shed light at the fact that what is often not said, when it gets to be said, may be said in a language that others do not understand.
