VIRTUAL: Faculty Conversation - Clean Energy Futures

Maxwell alumni, students, and friends are invited to join graduates and students from the College of Engineering and Computer Science for a virtual faculty conversation on Thursday, October 15 at 4:00-5:00 p.m. ET. Professor Peter Wilcoxen from the Maxwell School and Professor Charles T. Driscoll from the College of Engineering and Computer Science will be joined by Kathy Fallon Lambert from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to discuss and engage in Q&A about the Clean Energy Futures research project.

The Clean Energy Futures project aims to quantify the efficacy, efficiency, and equity of four contrasting policy approaches for reducing electricity sector emissions, and to provide policymakers with rigorous, timely, and useable science for decision-making. In this faculty Q&A, members of the Clean Energy Futures team will outline their research approach to the project, present the team’s preliminary findings, and offer future next steps to continue this research.

Program participants will include:

Professor Charles T. Driscoll is Science Lead for the Clean Energy Futures research project. He is University Professor of Environmental Systems and Distinguished Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University.

Also a member of the Clean Energy Futures research team, Professor Peter Wilcoxen is Director of the Center for Environmental Policy and Administration (CEPA) at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. He also serves as Professor, Public Administration and International Affairs, the Ajello Professor in Energy and Environmental Policy, and a Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor for Teaching Excellence.

Kathy Fallon Lambert is the Clean Energy Futures project’s Policy Engagement Lead. She is Director of the Science Policy Exchange and Senior Advisor at the Harvard TH Chan School Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment at Harvard University.

The Clean Energy Futures project is comprised of science and policy engagement researchers from Syracuse University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science and the Maxwell School, Georgia Institute of Technology, Science Policy Exchange, Resources for the Future, and Harvard University’s TH Chan School of Public Health’s Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment (C-CHANGE).
