Mr. Ivan Zhivkov—the first guest speaker of the CACI-SU Alumni Talk Series—is a foreign service officer of the U.S. Department of State and is currently serving as vice consul at the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, since 2021.
Mr. Zhivkov is an alumnus of Syracuse University’s Maxwell School (('15 B.A., cum laude; '16 M.A. (IR)). During his education at SU, he played a key role in the Model UN team at the Maxwell School, which was recognized with awards for Distinguished Delegation (2013) and Outstanding Delegation (2014).
Mr. Zhivkov and SU alumni from Uzbekistan have connected thanks to Maxwell School efforts in Tashkent during the summer of 2022, continuing the SU alumni engagement tradition.

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
