“It seems that God has nothing better than the Dnipro and our glorious country...”
March 9 marks the 210th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko, "the serf who created the nation." On the eve of Kobzar's birthday, through Shevchenko's creativity—both poetry and painting—we will try to understand his crystallized vision of Ukraine as a Temple that was lost but will be restored. We will also talk about the modern understanding of the figure of Shevchenko, the image of the poet on the Maidan and during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and the modern struggle as a common cause and the Testament.
Come talk and learn!
Pizza and drinks provided.
This event will be hosted by Tetiana Hranchak, visiting assistant teaching professor, with support from the SU Ukrainian Club.

We’re Turning 100!
To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”
Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
