"Be Not Afraid: Faith as the Cornerstone of Public Service"

National Veterans Resource Center, Tan Auditorium 101 Waverly Ave. Syracuse, NY, USA

Add to: Outlook, ICal, Google Calendar

The Annual Borgognoni Lecture Series welcomes Michael Steele, former Chairperson of the Republican National Committee and currently a Senior Fellow at Brown University's Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs.

Can religious faith be compatible with public service? Should it be embraced or feared? Mr. Steele will consider these questions and reflect on his life of faith and leadership. Both a former seminarian and elected official, Steele is well positioned to explore this topic.

This lecture is sponsored by the Department of Religion in the College of Arts and Sciences, and co-sponsored by Hendricks Chapel and the State of Democracy Lecture Series coordinated by the Campbell Public Affairs Institute of the Maxwell School.

We’re Turning 100!

To mark our centennial in the fall of 2024, the Maxwell School will hold special events and engagement opportunities to celebrate the many ways—across disciplines and borders—our community ever strives to, as the Oath says, “transmit this city not only not less, but greater, better and more beautiful than it was transmitted to us.”

Throughout the year leading up to the centennial, engagement opportunities will be held for our diverse, highly accomplished community that now boasts more than 38,500 alumni across the globe.
