Fake News: Are We Really Surprised? Peer to Peer Series
204 Maxwell Hall
While perhaps receiving an unprecedented amount of media coverage, fake news has been present throughout the globe for a long time. Modern technology shifts the game in a seemingly unexpected direction. Humphrey Fellow Nora Buklevska will take a brief look at what is behind it, and in these present and turbulent times, how a small country like Macedonia is part of the global fake news phenomenon.
About the speaker: Panorea Buklevska is currently a product owner at the software development company DoXteam. Previously, she was the Marketing and PR Manager of Re-Aktiv, a business environment and software reform consultant for clients such as the World Bank and IFC. She has served as a management board member in MASIT, Macedonian IT Chamber of Commerce. Her concerns relate to marketing in the public sector, e-government and analysis. She earned a master’s degree in Management and Human Resources from The Institute for Sociological, Political and Juridical Research at Saints Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, Macedonia, and a degree in English Language & Literature from the same institution.
