'US-China Trade Conflict: What's at stake for both counties'

The US-China trade war has evolved into a new stage. As President Trump announced that he would delay additional tariffs on Chinese imported goods, both governments have indicated intention to end the trade conflict and create new trade agreements. The meeting between President Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping at Mar-a-Lago resort will be critical for the further development of trade relationship. It is still questionable that what kind of compromise will both sides make. On one hand, facing pressures from the upcoming 2020 presidential election, President Trump has to evaluate influences of trade war on its domestic supporters. On the other hand, the Chinese government has to figure out how to protect the interests of local high-tech companies and consumers. It is important to know the interest of both countries and make a systematic analysis from the economic perspective.
