On Oct. 22, 2024, the Autonomous Systems Policy Institute (ASPI) welcomed Waymo, the autonomous driving technology company, which showcased one of its all-electric Jaguar I-PACE vehicles equipped with the Waymo Driver—the company's automated driving system.

This fully autonomous vehicle is part of Waymo's Waymo One ride-hailing fleet. Today, Waymo One provides more than 100,000 fully autonomous passenger trips each week across Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Phoenix.

Waymo has driven more than 25 million fully autonomous miles on public roads. According to data published by Waymo and reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the company is significantly reducing the frequency and severity of traffic collisions where it operates when compared to human benchmarks the company's researchers have developed.

Waymo will be conducting winter weather testing with its vehicles in upstate New York in the coming months, and is gearing up to open to the public in Austin, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia, in 2025.
