Frederick Carriere, research professor of political science, was interviewed for The Korea Times article, "Are 'comfort women' statues in wrong places?." Japan claims the statues, erected by Korean activists to symbolize victims of Japan's wartime sex slavery near Japanese missions in Korea, are not located appropriately. "The two parties to the conflict should meet in a confidential setting where they can try to get at the deep roots of the conflict and mutually explore a possible solution," says Carriere. 02/13/17
