Charles Cutshall moves to Commodity Futures Trading Commission

In May, Charles Cutshall ‘07 BA (IR)/’09 MPA became chief privacy officer for the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Cutshall provides policy and program oversight for privacy compliance and is responsible for managing risks associated with personally identifiable information. The CFTC is a U.S. federal agency responsible for ensuring openness, transparency, competitiveness, and financial soundness of markets, avoiding systemic risk, and protecting market users, consumers, and the public from fraud, manipulation, and abuse under the Commodity Exchange Act.
Before joining the CFTC, Cutshall developed privacy policy for the Office of Management and Budget while providing assistance to other federal agencies. Cutshall has also worked on privacy issues and compliance at both the Department of the Treasury and Department of Homeland Security.
