Shana Gadarian, professor and chair of the political science department, joined a panel of experts on
Georgia Public Broadcasting
in discussing Trump, authoritarianism, and anxiety in American politics. According to Gadarian, anxiety is uncomfortable and makes people want protection which is what Trump is offering. "What's dangerous about it," she says, "is that he's promising to protect people from a particular group [Muslims] who have less political power in the U.S." 01/20/17
