Gerard and Bruno-van Vijfeijken deliver leadership program in Tanzania

August 16, 2017

Catherine Gerard and Tosca Bruno-van VijfeijkenCatherine Gerard, director of the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC), and Tosca Bruno-van Vijfeijken, director of the Transnational NGO Initiative at the Maxwell School, were invited by several large international NGOs — ActionAid, Amnesty International, Greenpeace, and Oxfam — to once again deliver the Senior Leadership Development Programme held July 10- 14, 2017, in Tanzania. This program — now in its fifth year — works to systematically develop new senior leaders by using adult learning methods that first build understanding of key concepts and leadership principles, and then tests them through interactive learning and application. The program’s focus on inter-organizational sharing and comparing is a unique and powerful feature of this program. The Transnational NGO Initiative cultivated this customized program as an offshoot of the open enrollment-based Leadership Institute established in 2011. The Institute is in its sixth year and is the foundation on which all executive NGO leadership development training provided by the Maxwell School have been developed. This year’s Leadership Institute will be held October 1-6, 2017. 08/16/17
