Professor Jok Madut Jok explores the challenges of juggling work and childcare in Africa during the Covid-19 pandemic in his article "My PhD didn't prepare me for work and childcare the Covid-19 style," published in Daily Nation. "Even among people with decent income levels, the pandemic has diminished many of the support systems that Africans usually rely on to manage raising children while working," writes Jok. "I can’t imagine how one-parent households, health-worker parents and parents who have lost their jobs due to Covid-19 are coping." 06/10/20
