In his recent book, One Humanity and the Remaking of Global Peace, Security and Conflict Resolution (Lambert Academic Publishing), author Mahboob A. Khawaja ’81 MA (PSc)/’00 PhD (SSc) offers a 21^st-century vision of global harmony, transcending what he terms “obsolete systems of global governance, peace, security and conflict resolution.”

The book draws on critical analyses of contemporary global crises and historic reasoning, in order to articulate innovations and tools for worldwide political change. He portrays global leaders as largely egoistic and indifferent to conditions, such as wars and global warming, that threaten human existence and survival on the planet. He offers a vision of One Global Humanity – a revulsion against the contemporary standardized norms of global politics of thinking, prioritizing instead reason and peaceful co-existence as the core value for global governance and politics.

Khawaja specializes in international relations, global security, and peace and conflict resolution, with specific interests in Islamic-Western comparative cultures and civilizations. He is vice president, academic and strategic planning, for Ummah Global Planning and Development, Research and Future-Making; a former dean of the College of Social Sciences, KIMEP University, in Kazakhstan; and author of several publications on topics related to the new book.
