Donald Trump's campaign to return to the White House is very much a family affair, with his sons Donald Jr. and Eric playing key roles. They have been omnipresent at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, appearing alongside their father at most public events.
During Trump's first term from 2017 to 2021, his sons were instrumental in helping him make critical decisions, and they continue to ensure that party leadership is filled with loyal allies.
Natalie Koch, professor of geography and the environment, says Trump's nepotism is nothing new. “The Trump organization is a family business, but once he took office the first time, and then you could really see that he brought that into the political realm and into the White House,” Koch says.
