Mallon Andrews, Woodard Receive International Relations Teaching Award
May 8, 2023
Kyrstin Mallon Andrews and Lauren Woodard, both assistant professors of anthropology, received the International Relations Teaching Award, which recognizes excellence in teaching and contributions to the International Relations (IR) Undergraduate Program during the 2022-2023 academic year. The award includes a monetary prize that can be used as research funds.
Mallon Andrews and Woodard supervised a number of capstone projects and advised IR seniors in the undergraduate research assistantship program.
"International relations majors and minors benefit from the program's faculty as well as affiliated faculty across the Maxwell School and the broader University," says Osamah Khalil, associate professor of history and chair of the International Relations Undergraduate Program.
"Drs. Woodard and Mallon Andrews had an immediate impact in their first year at Syracuse University. They were committed to academic excellence and support of international relations students. They were also eager to provide mentored research opportunities. IR majors had high praise for both faculty members and the IR program was happy to recognize them with the teaching award," Khalil says.
