Lou Luba honored with criminal justice award

Lou LubaLou Luba ‘93 JD/MPA was presented with the Oliver Ellsworth Prosecutor of the Year Award by the Connecticut Criminal Justice Educational and Charitable Association on June 6 in Farmington, Conn. The award is conferred annually to a Connecticut prosecutor who has “made exceptional contributions in the pursuit of justice.”

Luba was selected as the 2019 recipient in recognition of his substantial work on sexual assault cases, in particular the case of State v. Christopher Lamb. He will be presenting on this case at the National Conference for Victims of Crime, National Training Institute, to be held this December.

Luba has worked as a prosecutor in Connecticut for the past 25 years, recently focusing on cybercrime and computer investigations. During this time, Luba also served in the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring in 2016 at the rank of commander. Recently appointed a justice of the peace in Tolland, Conn., Luba will also be participating in the Maxwell School’s Veterans Program for Politics and Civic Engagement, in November.
