Maxwell Advisory Board vice chair supports faculty excellence
August 22, 2018
A major gift from Maxwell alumna Cathy L. Daicoff ’79 MPA will provide support to top faculty members across the Maxwell School. Daicoff is a long-time member of the Maxwell Advisory Board and its current vice chair.
Recipients of the three-year awards will be known as Daicoff Faculty Scholars. They will be selected according to overall excellence in teaching and research, and from across the School’s departments and disciplines. In the coming year, Daicoff’s $160,000 gift will allow Dean David M. Van Slyke to name the inaugural Daicoff Faculty Scholar.
Daicoff recently retired as a managing director at Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services after 38 years with the company. Though she most recently focused on Asia-Pacific markets, her career spanned management responsibility in U.S. domestic operations, Canada, Latin America, and global positions, as well. Among other posts, she served as Standard & Poor’s first senior policy officer and director of policy training for Ratings Services, and participated for more than 20 years on the firm’s Analytics Policy Board.
Dean Van Slyke remarked, “Cathy’s investment in the Maxwell School — both of her time and her philanthropic resources — makes Maxwell a better, stronger school. Future generations of Maxwell faculty and their students will benefit from this support, which will help ensure that Maxwell continues to attract and retain the very best scholars and teachers.”
