Mark Monmonier was interviewed for the National Parks magazine article "Naming Matters," which explores efforts to change place names that are deemed offensive, hurtful, or arbitrary. Monmonier, Distinguished Professor of Geography and author of a book about controversial place names, says "With a name that has been around for quite some time, the likelihood of getting it changed is not that great." 07/09/19
