The new, Winter 2019 issue of Maxwell's magazine for alumni, students, faculty, staff, and other friends—Maxwell Perspective—leads with a report on the 50th anniversary version of the Minnowbrook Conference on public administration, which was held in August. The magazine describes the School’s “Minnowbrook legacy,” which dates back to faculty member Dwight Waldo and the first such conference, in 1968; and it summarizes many of the conversations held this summer, which are prompting further discussion in subsequent sessions and through digital channels.

The issue also includes a feature article about the new Lender Center for Social Justice at Syracuse University, which was founded by Maxwell alumnus Marvin Lender and his wife Helaine. The interdisciplinary center is expected, over time, to house projects involving many Maxwell faculty and students.

Among other articles in the new magazine are:

• a report on last fall’s Policy Camp for undergraduates from underrepresented racial and cultural groups; 
• a profile of economist Mary Lovely, who is in Washington, D.C., as the first-ever Merget Fellow;
• a story about students in Citizenship and Civic Engagement who were able to conduct research last summer, funded by the Snow Foundation;
• acknowledgement of a special anniversary for the MAIR/MSPR program (for students pursuing careers in public diplomacy); and
• coverage of efforts to publish, in book-form, classnotes left behind by late PA faculty member Bill Duncombe.
