Dean David Van Slyke, Louis A. Bantle Chair in Business and Government Policy, was recently interviewed on WCNY's Capitol Pressroom about the ramifications of the federal government shutdown. According to Van Slyke, "The bigger and longer term issue is: What will be the capacity of the federal government to actually attract the best and brightest people to its work?" He goes on to say, "When these workers are furloughed . . . and especially younger federal workers who are professionals, kind of at the middle rank, many of them are saying 'I'm polishing my resume, I'm looking at other places.'" 01/28/19
