West Coast Gatherings Mark Milestone
August 3, 2024
In partnership with Syracuse University’s West Coast office, the Maxwell School hosted two events in California over the summer that celebrated the centennial with an examination of a timely topic: the intersection of artificial intelligence with entertainment and technology.
The first, held June 18 at Playa Studios in Los Angeles, was titled “The Transformative Power of AI in Entertainment.” The Hon. James E. Baker, professor of public administration and international affairs by courtesy appointment, and director of the Syracuse University Institute for Security Policy and Law, joined Dean David M. Van Slyke for a fireside-style conversation.
Then, on June 20, Baker and Van Slyke were joined in San Francisco by Mary Daly ’94 Ph.D. (Econ)/H’19, president of the Federal Reserve of San Francisco, and Raj-Ann Rekhi Gill ’98 B.A. (IR), Syracuse University Trustee and operating partner at Silicon Valley Quad, for “The Transformative Power of AI: How is Technology Changing Our Lives?”
