Zorn appointed to oversee undergraduate education at IU Bloomington

Kurt Zorn ’79 MA (Econ)/’81 PhD (Econ) was appointed acting vice provost for undergraduate education for Indiana University Bloomington in July. He was previously associate vice provost for undergraduate education and a professor in IU’s Paul H. O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Zorn joined Indiana University immediately after receiving his Maxwell PhD, and has served as director of state relations and advisor to the president there; and, at the O’Neill School, interim dean and associate dean for academic and fiscal affairs. As a scholar, Zorn specializes in state and local public finance, tax policy, transportation safety, economic development, and gaming. He has written more than 60 articles and book chapters, and is co-author of the book Why Airplanes Crash: Aviation Safety in a Changing World (Oxford University Press). He serves on the editorial board of Public Budgeting and Finance.
