Alex Lynch '16 B.A. (PSc/CCE) proposed bringing more security cameras to the city streets around the University to make the area safer for current students, as his research revealed that 82% of students do not feel safe off campus. Lynch raised $94,000 from landlords and student associations to buy and install security cameras in a heavily populated student neighborhood and proposed eight sites for cameras to be installed, with the majority to be placed on Euclid Avenue.

“We’ve had attacks, of course, Orlando for instance, San Bernadino, others. But we haven’t had the kind of proliferating attacks that Europe and Britain have had,” says Corri Zoli, director of research for the Institute for Security Policy and Law.

William Banks, professor of practice of public administration and international affars, says gaining access to the evidence to substantiate or refute Trump's wiretap claims will be incredibly difficult because under the law, the president can not access current or previous Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court orders.

According to Margaret S. Thompson, associate professor of history and political science, some religious congregations may leave their buildings, but other groups can replace them, often representing groups that are new or growing in the community.

Elizabeth Cohen, professor of political science, says it won't be easy for Trump to withhold money from sanctuary cities as there are numerous conditions, privacy laws and civil rights protections he will need to navigate.

University Professor Sean O'Keefe notes that there will always be tensions that accompany presidential transitions.
