SU-Northeast Clean Energy Council Partnership Benefits Students, Faculty, Businesses
The agreement between Syracuse University and the Northeast Clean Energy Council aims to raise the visibility and impact of emerging research on clean climate technologies; increase engagement in the region for governments and businesses looking to meet their net-zero carbon transitions through clean energy policies and innovations; and create career-building experiential opportunities for students.

Maxwell Undergraduate Student Forges a Rich Academic Path
Dominic Chiappone is making the most of his undergraduate experience. A member of the Renée Crown University Honors Program, he is a double major in history at the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences and broadcast and digital journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.

Students in the program complete coursework to earn an executive master of public administration degree from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and a master of business administration degree with a concentration in business analytics from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management.

Maxwell Students Selected as Inaugural Voyager Scholars
The scholarship, funded by the Obama Foundation, provides $25,000 a year for two years toward education expenses, $10,000 for research/service travel between junior and senior year (Summer Voyage), $20,000 in travel funding for the next 10 years, and leadership training.

MPA/MA (IR) Student Selected as a 2022 Boren Fellow
Christopher Beardsley, an M.P.A./M.A. (IR) student, has been named a 2022 Boren Fellow. Boren Awards fund students to study critical languages through immersive experiences abroad. Applicants must articulate a commitment to public service and national security.

Herrold Awarded Fulbright to Study Grassroots Community Change in Serbia
Catherine Herrold, associate professor of public administration and international affairs, is heading to Serbia for seven months in the Spring 2023 semester. She will live and work in local communities there, interact extensively with local residents and collaborate with scholars at the University of Belgrade.

Maxwell Students/Alumni Receive Fulbright Awards to Teach, Research and Study Around the World
Seven Maxwell students and alumni have been named as 2022 recipients of awards through the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. The program funds a range of awards that include English teaching assistantships (ETA) and study/research grants in over 140 countries.
