Summary
Collaborative problem solving goes international in this one to three day simulation paralleling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This simulation stimulates students to work on interest-based collaborative problems solving skills including: framing an issue as a joint task to be addressed; educating other parties at the table about one's interests; learning and thinking about other parties' interests; looking for ways to expand the pie; generating multiple options for settlement; evaluating options; using objective criteria to resolve impasses; and developing an implementation plan.
