Summary
In recent years, a wave of measles, pertussis, and mumps epidemics affected communities across the United States. While these illnesses are typically categorized as “vaccine-preventable diseases,” the reasons for these epidemics as well as the community impacts vary. A one-size-fits-all prevention and response protocol is insufficient for addressing these complex incidents. For this exercise, six members of a community health center will engage in a three-part guided discussion based on the provided information.
