In their study titled "The Macroeconomic Effects of 2017 Through 2025 Federal Fuel Economy and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Standards," Saba Siddiki, assistant professor of public administration and international affairs, and her co-authors sought to determine how U.S. vehicle regulations may affect the U.S. economy, both nationally and by region. Their results reveal that the short‐term effects of the federal standards will be negative, but the long‐term effects will be positive.
