A synopsis of "Does Paid Family Leave Reduce Nursing Home Use? The California Experience," written by Douglas Wolf, Gerald B. Cramer Professor of Aging Studies, and Kanika Arora '15 PhD (PA), was featured by the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management (JPAM) and will be published in the Winter 2018 issue. The key finding is that California’s Paid Family Leave act appears to have reduced the rate of nursing home usage among the older population. This type of policy effect is likely to produce a substantial reduction in Medicare and Medicaid costs. 12/13/17
