Bio

Lucas is a Ph.D. student in the Economics Department. His research focuses on the intersection of climate change, education and poverty, particularly on how environmental shocks exacerbate existing inequities. Before joining the Maxwell School, Lucas worked as an instructional designer for MIT’s Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab. He has also served as head teaching assistant at the Harvard Extension School and founded an economics program at Excel Academy, where he taught high school economics and history.
