Julia Preston, Current Contributing Writer at The Marshall Project

Julia Preston is a contributing writer covering immigration for The Marshall Project, a non-profit news organization and website. Before starting that assignment in January, Ms. Preston had been a correspondent and editor at The New York Times for 21 years.  From 2006 to 2016, she was the National Correspondent covering immigration for the Times. Ms. Preston was a member of the New York Times staff that won the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 1998, for a series on the corrosive effects of narcotics trafficking in Mexico. Ms. Preston will be available for student questions regarding her work and her career at 2pm on April 3rd.
