B.S. in Public Health


The bachelor of science in public health prepares students to improve community health through hands-on learning and coursework that connects health with fields like policy, behavior and the environment.

This four-year, on-campus degree includes a 30-credit core and a 15-credit concentration in addiction studies, community health education or healthcare management.

Healthcare Management Minor


The healthcare management minor gives students a foundation in how healthcare systems operate in the U.S. and globally.

Through 18 credits of required and elective courses, students explore health care delivery, policy, ethics and program management preparing them for careers or graduate study in healthcare administration.

Public Health Minor


The public health minor offers students from any major the chance to explore how social, environmental and behavioral factors influence health.

This 18-credit program includes core coursework in community health and health disparities, plus electives that cover topics such as health systems, policy, epidemiology and global health.

Master of Public Health


The master of public health (MPH) is a globally focused program that equips students to address health challenges through applied research, policy and community-based practice.

The MPH is a 42-credit hour, two-year program that includes a global health concentration.

Master of Public Health/Master of Business Administration


Earn both a master of public health from the Maxwell School and a master of business administration from the Whitman School to prepare for cross-sector leadership.

The MPH/MBA dual degree program is an 81-credit hour, three-year program that prepares students for careers that require an understanding of both business and public health.

Addiction Studies Certificate of Advanced Study

The certificate of advanced study (CAS) in addiction studies is a 12-credit online program offering specialized training in substance use prevention, policy and recovery.

This certificate can be earned alongside a graduate degree or on its own, following completion of an undergraduate degree, and may be completed either full time or part time.
