Herrold Serves as Keynote Panelist at Civil Society Summit Co-Hosted by USAID, SDC, Partners Global

Catherine Herrold, associate professor of public administration and international affairs, recently participated in the Civil Society Summit 2024: Building Resilience for a Changing Civic Space as a keynote panelist. The summit, co-hosted by the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and Partners Global, took place on May 28, 2024, in Belgrade, Serbia.

During the session “Resilience in the Face of Closing Civic Space: Building Strategic Capabilities for Civil Society to Thrive and Grow,” Herrold and co-panelists discussed different strategies for civil society under threat and highlighted the need for continued investment in civil society organization resilience as essential to defending democratic principles and achieving social justice.
